Kangaroos are the most well-known and loved animals in Australia in my opinion. I might even go as far as to say that they are among the most popular creatures in the world. Their very unique way of fighting, kicking and even punching makes them very interesting and some people have even gone as far as fighting them.
Although kangaroos will be pretty brave in fighting a human in a hands-on battle, what most people don’t know is that they are, in fact, pretty shy creatures. It is a known fact that a lot of people have, for some reason or another, got into weird fist and kick fights with kangaroos in Australia.
Due to the fact that they are pretty easy to find in Australia, they are among the most popular attractions and sometimes tourists get too close to kangaroos out of curiosity.
But what would happen if a man fought a kangaroo? Who would win?
Although some people might disagree, it is pretty unlikely that the average man would ever beat a kangaroo in a direct fight, and below you will find out why.
It will usually be very hard to measure the strength between different species of creatures, without putting them to a live test. There are a lot of differences to account for like a difference in the physical composition, the size, and so on. For some people, kangaroos might seem frail, and usually, a human will weigh more than a kangaroo, but kangaroos are in fact, at least most of the time, considerably stronger than the average man.
Although the average man would have a shot at dominating the average kangaroo, when the animal starts to throw its hind legs to attack, the battle will be completely lost by the human. There is no part of the body of a human that would be able to exert the same power as the legs of the kangaroo.
The biological composition and muscle mass of the kangaroos are the reason behind their strength. Over 50% of the whole bodyweight of a kangaroo will be made of pure blood.

The muscles on a kangaroo’s body will be easily noticeable and these are one of the main qualities that they would use to attract females during the mating season. These muscles give the animal a lot of strength. There are a lot of videos that would show kangaroos easily defeating and dragging away big dogs or other big animals.
Winning a fight with a big dog will be an easy task for a kangaroo, but to understand exactly how strong they are, you should know that they would usually take down a dog even without using their hind legs. This aspect alone should make most men think twice before getting in a fight with a kangaroo.
If what I said so far doesn’t scare you and you still want to fight a kangaroo, then you should really avoid its hind leg kicks. Their kick is, in fact, considered one of the most powerful hits from a living creature from the animal kingdom. Their foot muscles are so strong that they are able to jump up to three meters into the air!
Kangaroos would never try to drown a human for fun. They would resort to such actions only when they feel threatened and are close to a lake, a pond, or another type of body of water. This is a protective tactic that they have used for many years against other predators such as foxes or dingoes.
The kangaroo will run up to a body of water that is deep enough to reach its chest, and if the predator is brave enough to follow it inside the water, it will use its strength to drown the predator with the forepaws.
You’ve surely seen the video of a man in Australia fighting a kangaroo in the hope of saving his dog. In that video, the kangaroo was holding a dog tightly and the dog’s owner was trying with all their strength to help the pet get free.
The man was hitting the kangaroo with what seemed to be no real damage. This should give you a clue as to how resilient and tough these animals are and what strength you will actually need to have to bring one down. Another video was showing people trying to defend themselves from a kangaroo attack and one of them was hitting the kangaroo with a golf club on its head.
Although the hits seemed to be pretty strong, the kangaroo continued to attack, ignoring all of the blows. Yes, kangaroos are very strong and you shouldn’t start a fight with one unless you are really sure you are prepared.
You will find kangaroos in Australia and it will usually be pretty hard to find one willing to fight with you. They are pretty shy and will avoid fighting for no reason. If you think it will be funny to throw a punch at one, you should reconsider. One bad confrontation with such an animal and you can get really badly hurt, if not worse.
When feeling threatened, the kangaroo will take a threatening stance, standing up and showing all of its muscles and its impressive size. If you’re not easily scared and you continue to go at the animal, it might catch you with its forearms, stand on its tail, and hit you with all its strength with its hind legs around the abdomen area.
What’s interesting is that this particular blow can be made from a very short distance, a hand’s length away from you.
The speed of the kick is so impressive that it can be enough to stop a fight with any human. You might survive this blog, but it will surely leave you with some broken bones.
Kangaroos fighting other kangaroos will be able to take this blow because their stomach has muscles to protect them from the hit, but for a human this might be the end of the fight.
